We sourced this Matcha on our last trip to Japan in April... The name "White Dragon" is inspired by a pilgrimage we took during the trip to God Dragon Temple, a two-hour hike through mountains and wildlife - a mystical and transformational journey itself - which opens to a beautiful stone and wood temple at the summit ... We feel this bright, activating verdant tea is imbued with the spirit of mysticism, light, power, and strength we personally associate with Dragon and Dragon Mythology as well as our multi-dimensional human journey... It is an honor to be able to share it with you.
A Note on Natural Farming ...
This a method inspired by the natural rhythms of nature, the work of Shizen Nōhō "Do Nothing" Farmer, Philosopher and Author Masanobu Fukuoka and is a low-impact, peaceful approach... The idea is to minimize the human imprint, to integrate the agriculture into the indigenous environment, and allow the wild soil and environment contribute to the expression of the tea.
Tea-trees are shade-grown in a naturally-cultivated soil, (without the use of any fertilizers, pesticides, chemical or organic amendments... just water, shade cloth, and some straw and leaves for mulch) in harmony with the forested mountainside where the farm is located in Nara, Japan. The minimal agriculture practices are intended to reflect the quality and signature of the surrounding forests and soil.
